I got fungal infection after water irrigation so I don’t like it

My daughter had at one point a bug or fly in here ear , she went home and asked her husband to flush with some body temperature water and a special 💉 ( she had from are GP ) to softly removed it .
And it works. Herin Belgium, the always perform it always by GP ‘S , only the difficult cases or performs by a ENT specialist, we don’t have very long waiting lists luckily !
She has on regular basis wax in here ear so know she knows how to do it softly and safely, she does here self with help from here husband af corse , and go on regular basis.
I had my ears irrigated in the 90’s and my GP was a dab hand… The feeling of all of unblocking after having wax against my ear drums (different times/ears & separate appts) for days was divine. I could hear the ticking of my watch from 6 metres away and eventually had to put it in a drawer as it distracted me from sleeping.
Been a good boy since then and kept my ears mighty healthy so no more issues.

I’m totally on team micro suction, don’t get me wrong. But you did omit the fact that with micro suction you are putting potentially very damaging (hard) tools inside someone’s ear.
The way YOU handle them is superb of course 😘 But still: water vs metal object is also a consideration I would think.

I appreciate your videos you explain the specific patient’s issue and anatomical anomalies without carrying on endlessly and repetitively about unrelated ear anatomy and conditions. Keep up the great work and your comparison of irrigation and micro-suction was interesting.

I agree, in Australia it seems to be irrigation only. My husband gets huge build up of wax In his ears and every time he gets an ear infection. He would be a star on your channel.

My dad gets very bad vertigo for days from irrigation. Micro suction is hard to come by in the US, if at all
