Aylesbury thug cut man with pint glass in busy town centre pub – Buckinghamshire Live

A thug left an innocent man unconscious with a deep cut to his neck after striking him with a pint glass in an Aylesbury pub – a court has heard.

Police said Brandon Broomhead-Fox, 24, carried out the sickening attack inside The Feathers in Kingsbury Square and CCTV showed him “walking around the pub with clenched fists, punching the air” moments before the assault.

A thug left an innocent man unconscious with a deep cut to his neck after striking him with a pint glass in an Aylesbury pub – a court has heard.

Police said Brandon Broomhead-Fox, 24, carried out the sickening attack inside The Feathers in Kingsbury Square and CCTV showed him “walking around the pub with clenched fists, punching the air” moments before the assault.

Today Thames Valley Police said without the intervention of another customer who gave first aid, the victim, a man in his 20s, could have died with the glass wound “millimetres away from a main artery”.

On Monday Broomhead-Fox of no fixed appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court and pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

Thames Valley Police said at around 9.30pm on Sunday, June 21, the victim was with a friend in The Feathers.

Broomhead-Fox was also at the pub and sitting at a nearby table.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “Broomhead-Fox then confronted the victim’s friend, and the victim put himself between the pair in an attempt to diffuse the situation and prevent it from escalating.

“Broomhead-Fox, who was holding a pint of beer, then used an empty pint glass as a weapon, swinging this at the victim, striking him in the neck, causing the glass to break.

“The broken glass caused a deep cut to the victim’s neck, which was millimetres away from a main artery.”

Retired paratrooper helped avert tragedy

Thames Valley Police said a customer administered crucial first aid on the victim.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “The victim lost consciousness, but he was assisted with immediate first aid by one of the customers, who was a retired paratrooper with expert first aid knowledge.”

Broomhead-Fox was arrested less than four hours after the incident.

Police said enquiries revealed that a taxi was arranged from a location near to the Feathers pub and the taxi driver confirmed Broomhead-Fox was covered in blood.

Car full of weapons

A Thames Valley Police spokesman added: “Further investigations recovered a car belonging to Broomhead-Fox containing an array of weapons, including an extendable baton, a metal golf club and a baseball bat.”

Appalled detectives believe the attack could have ended in tragedy.

Investigating officer Detective Constable James Lacey, of Aylesbury CID, said: “This was a horrific attack which took place in a busy public venue.

“Prior to the attack, Broomhead-Fox is captured on CCTV walking around the pub with clenched fists, punching the air, which clearly shows his level of aggression and …….
