Killers, rapists, child abusers, international drug smugglers and terrorists are among those now serving time in prison for crimes committed across Lancashire.

Shocking cases have come before the courts over the past 12 months with some leading to sentences of life imprisonment being handed down.

Among those jailed in 2021 were the killers of Aya Hachem, dad Jordan Monaghan for murdering his two young children and partner, a mum who killed her daughter, the murderers of Alison M…….

Killers, rapists, child abusers, international drug smugglers and terrorists are among those now serving time in prison for crimes committed across Lancashire.

Shocking cases have come before the courts over the past 12 months with some leading to sentences of life imprisonment being handed down.

Among those jailed in 2021 were the killers of Aya Hachem, dad Jordan Monaghan for murdering his two young children and partner, a mum who killed her daughter, the murderers of Alison McBlain, a handyman who murdered a doctor and her daughter before setting fire to their bodies, and two large drugs gangs jailed for more than 160 years.

In many cases, their victims showed tremendous courage in facing their tormentors in court or fighting back against the thugs who targeted them.

Lancashire officers have spent months and in some cases years working tirelessly to bring these callous criminals to justice for their horrific crimes.

David Carney and Tracey Fielding

A terminally ill dad and grandad was kicked to death in the hallway of his Fleetwood flat after his vengeful ex “set the wheels in motion”.

Raymond Cullen known locally as ‘Irish Ray’, suffered horrific head injuries after being set upon by David Carney in the early hours of October 10, 2019, a court heard.

Following the attack, Carney poured paint over Mr Cullen’s body in a further act of contempt for his victim.

He then texted his partner, telling her, “I’ve done what you asked.”

Preston Crown Court heard Mr Cullen, 55, had been in a three year relationship with Tracey Fielding, 46, which had ended the previous year.

The relationship was described as “tempestuous and corrosive” with allegations of domestic violence on both sides.

At least four witnesses described Fielding offering people up to £20,000 to attack or kill her ex, with one woman saying: “From the moment I met Tracey I have known her asking people to kill Ray.”

But Fielding’s threats were never taken seriously as she was drunk and did not have the money she was offering.

In August 2019, Mr Cullen spent a period of time in hospital receiving treatment of cirrhosis of the liver.

While he was in hospital, Fielding smashed windows and ransacked his flat, destroying family photos and keepsakes, …….
